CO-OP program

     Special Education students tend to have a lower attendance rate. The attendance rate for chronically absent students at Spring-Ford High School last year was 25.6% and the state average was at 18% according to the ESSA report card (ESSA report card, 2022). By the time these students get to high school they have been struggling academically their whole life. This causes them to not want to come to school and have an increased number of absences than their peers. If we can provide activities that will make school more interesting and meaningful than they will have a better attendance rate.      Some benefits of implementing this CO-OP program is that it will give students who struggle to sit in the classroom all day something to go and do in either the morning or the afternoon that they can be paid for. Students will be learning real-life working skills and feel that they have a purpose behind what they are learning, and getting paid for it. This will al...
